Primary Health Care
We provide primary community care services to the communities of Colville Lake, Deline, Fort Good Hope, Norman Wells and Tulita.
We offer an array of Public Health services that mirror the Lifespan – Prenatal/Post-Natal care, Well Child clinics, School Programs and Well Adult clinics – all focusing on the “Prevention” end of the health-illness continuum. Public Health programs are all delivered from the community based health centres, and coordinated regionally by a Public health Nurse.
At the other end of the spectrum, are the programs dealing with the restoration and maintenance of health: Chronic disease management, General (sick) Clinic, emergency services and communicable disease surveillance to name a few These programs are available to people of any age who are experiencing a threat to their well-being. Physician clinics, Diabetes clinics, Rehabilitation, Audiology, dental services and ophthalmology clinics are provided on a rotational schedule to the communities throughout the year.
Home and Community Care enables clients who need some help to continue living at home, often with the effect of preventing, delaying, or substituting for long-term care or acute care alternatives.
Telehealth is the process of delivering health and social services over long distances using an interactive video conferencing / diagnostic system. Telehealth improves access to services for people in remote communities and improves access to clinical education.
