Prevention and Health Promotion
The Health Promotion programs are delivered by the Regional Coordinator, 9 community based Prevention and Health Promotion workers throughout the Sahtu region, and 1 Regional Dental Therapist. Together this team conducts health promotion and disease and injury prevention activities throughout the Sahtu. The activities can vary from public and school presentations to door to door campaigns on a variety of health topics such as nutrition, smoking, injury prevention, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, sexual health, lice, immunizations, active living, mental health, suicide prevention and any other issues that relate to health and wellness.
