Norman Wells
Norman Wells is located 80 km northwest of Tulia and 684 km northwest of Yellowknife. The community is located on the north bank of the Mackenzie River and views the entire width of the Mackenzie Valley from the Franklin to Richardson Mountains. It is unique to the Sahtu region, because it is a non-traditional community with a mostly non-Aboriginal population. The community has a population of 849 people.

Hospital Access
While Norman Wells has a well equipped health centre and social services office, medical emergencies require that residents leave the community for hospital services.
